Context
You want to involve operational staff more actively in daily continuous improvement by conducting production workstation audits in order to:
- verify in the field that work methods are understood and correctly applied, and that the required checks are performed at the workstation (compliance with standards);
- identify potential risks at the workstation, including quality and safety risks;
- propose and implement improvement actions to enhance operational performance.
Objectives
- Be able to conduct effective and relevant workstation audits
- Identify workplace risks and opportunities for improvement
- Become familiar with workstation audit checklists
- Know how to prepare a workstation audit, including the documents and data to collect in advance
- Understand the appropriate behaviour and attitude during the audit
- Know how to report and communicate audit findings
Recommanded for
-
Production line leaders, team leaders, production operators, and inspectors
Prerequisites
- Knowledge and/or field experience in process and product
Training method
The training alternates between theoretical input and practical application.
Depending on the size of the training group, at least two workstation audits will be carried out in pairs or groups of three.
This training requires half a day of preparation with the managers of the audited sector and a quality representative, either the day before the on-site session or remotely beforehand. The objective of this preparation phase is to select the most relevant workstations to audit, organise the field audits (including PPE requirements and safety precautions), and review or adapt the company’s audit checklists to the context of the selected workstations.
During the training, participants will alternately take on the role of auditors and observers. After each workstation audit, a classroom debriefing session is organised to review observations and feedback, allowing trainees to progressively improve their auditing skills throughout the training process.
Evaluation mode
- Knowledge test (MCQ).
Course materials
- Participant file containing the presentations given during the course and the exercise materials.
- Workstation audit questionnaire (checklists).
