Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing – #201
Context
The correct interpretation of a technical drawing/mechanical part definition plan is crucial in the industrial world in order to:
- Effectively interpret technical requirements and design specifications.
- Reduce plan reading errors.
- Work efficiently with the methods, manufacturing, project, industrialisation and quality departments.
- Improve product quality through rigorous application of requirements.
Objectives
- Understand the importance of functional dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Be able to accurately analyse technical drawings/industrial definition plans using ISO-GPS dimensioning.
- Know how to identify and interpret geometric tolerancing and reference symbols.
Recommanded for
Airline pilots / Team leaders / Production operators / Controllers, quality assurance staff / Maintenance technicians / Methods
Anyone wishing to acquire essential skills in the industrial world
Prerequisites
- Knowledge / Process and product experience
Specific operating conditions for remote sessions
- Have a PC equipped with a microphone, webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: To blur or hide the view from behind, background screens are available in Zoom or Teams.
- A good Internet connection, tested before the session.
- Locate in a quiet, isolated area; switch to “not available” status in Teams; close your email access and mute your phone to avoid distraction during the session.
- To avoid off-topic discussions during the session, participants from the same organisation should not be grouped together in the same room, but rather at their own desks. Virtual sub-groups will be set up specifically for the exercises, which will also allow for mixed groups to be created.
- The webcam and microphone must be open during remote qualification/certification exams. It may also be necessary for us to check that you are the only one in the room.
- We ask that you connect at least 5 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Pedagogy
Alternating theory and practice.
For in-house training, this course requires half a day of preparation with a Quality and/or Technical Manager from the company, to be carried out remotely prior to the on-site training. The purpose of this preparation is to select one or two interesting product plans to use as training aids or to adapt those proposed by Euro-Symbiose to the company’s context.
Trainees will analyse their company’s product plan(s) during the training as a practical exercise.
Evaluation mode
- Knowledge test (MCQ).
Course materials
-
Participant file containing the presentations delivered during the training and the exercise materials.
- Plan reading questionnaire (checklists).
