The CQI-8 Layered Process Audit (LPA) is a structured shop floor audit method based on the AIAG standard and required by several OEMs such as Stellantis and General Motors. It aims to ensure compliance with critical processes by involving different management levels in regular audits consisting of short, frequent, and standardized checks carried out directly on the shop floor to quickly detect deviations and strengthen operational discipline. This approach promotes a culture of continuous improvement and team accountability.
