Context
- The North American Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) publishes the CQI technical standards (“CQI” = Continuous Quality Improvement, continuous improvement in management).
- CQI-23 is a self-assessment standard for plastic moulding processes.
- It complements the IATF 16949 standard in the context of “specific customer requirements” and applies to all suppliers in the automotive sector that use plastic moulding processes.
- You want to understand the requirements of the CQI-23 manual and the self-assessment rules.
- You want to understand the requirements of the CQI-23 manual and self-assess your plastic moulding processes or take a critical look at the self-assessments of your plastic moulding suppliers.

Objectives
- Understand the specific requirements of customers who demand CQI-23.
- Understand the contents of the CQI-23 manual (self-assessment tables, product audit, etc.).
- Identify the key points of the manual and the gaps that need to be filled in order to comply with the manual.
- Know how to use the CQI-23 manual self-assessment questionnaire through a self-assessment exercise in the field.
- Develop an action plan for implementing the manual.

Prerequisites
- Have the latest edition of the CQI-23 manual: not provided.
- Plan a half-day training preparation session to define the applicable table(s) and organise the self-assessment exercise in the field.
Pedagogy
The pedagogy alternates between theoretical sequences on the requirements of the CQI-23 manual and practical application sequences through exercises, followed by a practical self-assessment exercise in the field.
This training requires half a day of preparation with a Quality and/or Technical Manager from the company, to be carried out remotely before the on-site assessment. The purpose of this preparation is to:
- Select one or two relevant products to be used as training aids
- Select the documents required to prepare for the on-site assessment
Evaluation mode
- Knowledge test (MCQ).
