Context
Product safety and compliance with legal obligations and voluntary requirements are priority objectives for all companies in the automotive sector. However, achieving this is becoming increasingly difficult: markets are diversifying, and the variety of products together with the complexity of supply chains makes the requirements unclear. Yet the risk involved is enormous: if product safety and (legal) compliance are not ensured, the very existence of the company can be threatened. Every company should therefore address these challenges not only for each product individually, but also systematically at the organizational level, through a Product Compliance System (PCS).
Such a system includes elements for identifying, monitoring, controlling, and minimizing risks related to (legal) product compliance at company level. This makes it possible to identify potential risks and prevent them at an early stage. This is particularly essential for current or future product safety and compliance officers (PSCR).
In this training, you will discover the seven elements that make up a (legal) product compliance system. Practical examples will help you understand how to apply them within your company.
Objectives
- Familiarize yourself with the fundamental principles and discover a model of a (legal) product compliance system from a governance perspective.
- Understand the scope of a (legal) product compliance system, its components, and the key questions to ask.
- Be able to act as a point of contact on this subject within your company.
- Acquire the basic knowledge needed to obtain PSCR certification as part of a follow-on training course.

- This training is intended for those responsible for and involved in product and technology compliance issues throughout the product lifecycle, as well as current and future officers responsible for the legal compliance of products (PSCR). It is also suitable for employees of small and medium-sized companies in the automotive sector who are currently implementing a product compliance system or plan to do so in the future.

Specific operating conditions for remote sessions
- Have a PC equipped with a microphone, webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: To blur or hide the view from behind, background screens are available in Zoom or Teams.
- A good Internet connection, tested before the session.
- Locate in a quiet, isolated area; switch to “not available” status in Teams; close your email access and mute your phone to avoid distraction during the session.
- To avoid off-topic discussions during the session, participants from the same organisation should not be grouped together in the same room, but rather at their own desks. Virtual sub-groups will be set up specifically for the exercises, which will also allow for mixed groups to be created.
- The webcam and microphone must be open during remote qualification/certification exams. It may also be necessary for us to check that you are the only one in the room.
- We ask that you connect at least 5 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Pedagogy
A combination of practice-focused theoretical input, examples and exercises, along with ad hoc feedback from the trainer. The emphasis is on using simple, concrete examples to examine how the different components of a product compliance system are implemented in practice.
