5S: the Method – #451
Context
In a context where performance, safety, and quality are critical objectives, the 5S methodology provides a practical and structured approach to continuous improvement. It promotes employee engagement in creating and maintaining an organised, clean, and efficient workplace, while reinforcing adherence to standards and a mindset of ongoing improvement.
This training introduces the fundamentals of 5S, highlights its benefits and key success factors, and explains the essential steps for effective deployment. Participants will acquire the knowledge required to implement, sustain, and continuously improve workplace organisation practices on the shop floor.

Any professional looking to introduce and deploy the 5S methodology within their organisation.
Specific operating conditions for remote sessions
- Have a PC equipped with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: wallpapers are available on Zoom or Teams to hide the background.
- Have a good Internet connection, which should be tested before the session.
- Settle down in a quiet, isolated place; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
- Participants from the same organisation should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at their own desk.
- The end-of-course knowledge test must be taken with your webcam and microphone turned on. We may need to verify that you are alone in the room.
- Please sign in 5 minutes before the start of the session.

The training combines theoretical presentations, interactive exercises, and group discussions to facilitate a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of the 5S methodology.
